What are you reflecting?

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

2 Corinthians 3:17-18 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Be not conformed to this world. The word conformed here, means to be liken to a pattern. To an image or a blueprint. We are not supposed to be a copy of this world. Shaped like, or formed like this world. On the contrary, we are supposed to be shaped like heaven. We should reflect Jesus. The first church was given the nickname Christians. Which means Christ like. Because they were so like Christ. That is our goal. To be like Him.

How then do we become like Him? We read here in 2 Corinthians 3:18, by being in His presence. Surround us with His glory, and we are changed into the same image. By placing us in His hands, and He will shape us like clay in a Potters hand. Until He can see heaven and Jesus in us.

Spend all your time looking at, and listen to worldly things and you will be formed like this world. Spend time with Jesus, and you will be formed like Him. Pastor Gøran Andreassen
