A willing God

Matthew 8:2-3 And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.

Jesus heals a leperThe leper man had no doubt that Jesus was able to heal him. He was convinced of Jesus' power to heal. It was Jesus' willingness he was unsure of. His question was not if Jesus was able, but if Jesus was willing.

Most of us believe that Jesus can do anything and that nothing is impossible for Him. It is His willingness we doubt. I believe every testimony I hear. I don’t doubt your experience or your miracle. I am just uncertain that God will do it for me.

Let me encourage you and tell you that my God is both able and willing. When Jesus met the woman at the well, He gave her this testimony: John 4:10 Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”

If you really knew Me, and you knew about the gift I want to give you, you would have asked, and I WOULD have given thee. The reason we don’t ask is because we really don’t know Him. If we knew that in him there is YES and AMEN, we would have asked. And if we ask, we would receive. Why? Because He is a willing God. Rev Gøran Andreassen
