The church that we are a part of is the church that was born on the day of Pentecost. If there were angels that ministered to believers during the times of the apostles, we can expect that angels will minister to us. Since the book of Acts is the church history book, that is where we go to discover this truth!

1. Just a few days after the day of Pentecost, the apostles were jailed because they would not cease to teach and preach Jesus Christ. Many miracles that took place caused the high priest and the Saducees to be filled with anger. The apostles were put in prison, but the angel of the Lord came and opened the prison doors. The gates of hell could not prevail. (Acts 5:18-19).

2. An angel appeared to Philip, telling him just where to go and he would find someone hungry for God's Word. That somebody was the Ethiopian eunuch who received the truth and this resulted in the conversion of the whole nation (Acts 8:26-39).

3. Cornelius was probably the first Gentile to have a visit by an angel. He was hungry for God. While he was praying, the Lord sent an angel to him, telling him to call for Peter, and Peter would tell him "words whereby he and his house would be saved" (Acts 11:14). When Peter came and preached, Cornelius and his whole household were filled with the Holy Ghost and baptized in Jesus' name!

4. Peter had been cast into prison. The apostle James had already been killed, and because this pleased the Jews, King Herod was getting ready to kill Peter also. Sixteen soldiers were assigned to guard Peter. He was bound by two chains to two of the soldiers. Other soldiers stood guard by the prison door. However, just ONE angel is all Peter needed to get him out of the prison into safety. The faithful, continued prayers of the saints was rewarded when God sent an angel (Acts 12:4-11).

DO WE HAVE OUR OWN PERSONAL ANGEL?
". . . Verily I say unto you, except ye be converted and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Whoseover therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones: For I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven" (Matthew 18:3-4, 10).

The phrase "little ones" is not limited to children, as we see above. It refers to those who have humbled themselves and have become a true believer in Jesus Christ. Yes we do have our own angels assigned to us, and they are beholding the face of our heavenly Father, waiting for any command to be given to minister unto us:

"Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation" (Hebrews 1:4).

"For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways" (Psalm 91:11) ds
