Live the POWER Life!

JESUS said that those who believe will have POWER in Mark 16:17, Acts 1:8 and Luke 10:19.

Nowhere in the Bible is there a date given when this power is to be taken away. A great deal is said, however, about the fact that we will especially need this power “in the last days.” Few will deny that we are either living in the last days or at least much nearer to the last days than were the Apostles!

What does YOUR church teach about this vital subject? Are you always being overcome by temptations that come your way? Are you afraid of what would happen if our Lord Jesus were to return and find you doing something wrong or with unconfessed sin in your life? Do you have the faith or power to pray for someone who is ill and see them healed or their disease go into remission? Are you living in complete confidence and victory or in fear, doubt and defeat? Why aren’t you living in the POWER of the Spirit?

Most likely, your church teaches that the power of the Holy Spirit is no longer being given to us today in the same way that it was in the days of the Apostles, ignoring the words of the Apostle Peter when he said, “. . . for the promise is unto you, and to your children and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call,” (Acts 2:39). Or, even if they tell you to “tarry” for the Holy Ghost, they have to convince you that you are saved “in the instant you believed," although there is no evidence in your life yet that you are "a new creature in Christ Jesus...old things passed away .. all things become new," (2 Corinthians 5:17). Then no wonder you do not have the victory and power that are promised to believers! Dear friend, you need to search the scriptures - study God's Word carefully and prayerfully and find out the whole truth! (See John 5:38, 2 Timothy 2:15.)

God says that except for His grace, there is no way we could ever be saved, (See Ephesians
2:5,8). But He was "not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance,"(2 Peter 3:9). so He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, to pay the whole price for both your healing and salvation. (See John 3:15-17.)

"He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His stripes we are healed," (Isaiah 53:5). [Notice that the price for your healing was paid before the price for your salvation.) In order for you to feel the conviction of the Holy Spirit, you must first believe God's Word, and therein lies the emphasis of John 3:16, Mark 16:16 and Acts 16:31. It is impossible for you ever to feel conviction until you have already believed the Gospel message. Then, when you have believed and become convicted, the command given by the Apostle Peter to the very first believers in the church was to REPENT. It is not a meritorious work to repent, but the Godly sorrow of having displeased Him heretofore and reversing our course to hereafter seek to please Him because we now love Him. Jesus, Peter and Paul all commanded Sinners to repent, so we must also. After repentance, or the dying out of the old sin nature, we are to be buried or BAPTIZED with Jesus Christ in the watery grave as a proof of our death to the flesh, then being raised with Him to walk in newness of life. (see Romans 6:1-4). We are then the "new creature" (2 Corinthians 5:17) in Christ capable of living the POWERFUL and VICTORIOUS life of a Child of the Heavenly King.

We would count it a privilege to bring a Bible study to your home or to have you come to our church where we teach the whole Bible with love and in context for POWER in YOUR LIFE. -- S.M.S
