Holiness from the inside

Revelation 4:8-11 The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: "Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!" Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying: "You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created."

It is hard to be an Apostolic person in today's world. Society teaches us that we must dress a certain way, have a specific haircut, and be excited about the latest hit songs and movies. When we do not conform to those ways, we are considered strange. However, II Corinthians 6:17 teaches us to "come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you." It seems simple, right? Live a separate life. Do not mess with anything that is unclean. We just need to look different, talk different, and act different, but it is not that easy. We are persecuted for dressing holy, mocked for speaking righteously, and taunted in our efforts to be more like Him. Then there are those of us who look the part and act the part but do not really understand the full meaning of holiness. Holiness is using every aspect of our life for the glory of God.

I want to glorify God in the way that I dress, talk, and act; but more than that, I want everything that I do to bring glory to my Savior. I want my life to be a living testimony to His exceeding goodness. When anyone looks at me, I want them to "know, without a shadow of doubt, that I am one of His. However, it does not matter how holy I dress. If holiness is not in me, then the outside is just a useless shell. We have to be holy from the inside, out. We must strive to be like Him in every way and to live our lives for the beauty of His holiness. - lw
